Summer Book Study

During the summers our Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Study invites others, men and women, to join them in reading a book facilitated by Rev. Guy Griffith. This year’s choice is Eugene Peterson’s classic, A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society. Peterson is most well-known for his contemporary translation of the Bible, The Message, but this book on the Psalms of Ascent (Ps. 120-134) is a jewel.

Sundays, June 3 - August 19

Summer Choir - Open to All!

Summer Choir begins Sunday, June 3, and is open to anyone in the 7th grade through adults who would like to sing!  The choir will rehearse in the chancel during the Sunday School hour (9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.), and will sing for the 11:00 worship service each Sunday.  Interested singers are invited to just “show up” and sing as their summer schedule allows.  Anthems will be simple enough to be learned in the one-hour rehearsal and most will be based upon familiar hymn tunes. If you’ve always wanted to sing in the choir, but couldn’t make the commitment to Wednesday night rehearsals, here’s your chance!  If you’ve always wondered what it is like to sing in the choir, but were not sure you had “the skills”, this is open season!  All are welcome!  Remember:  There is strength in numbers and section leaders from the Westminster Choir will be present each week to help lead. Please join us any Sunday beginning June 3 to August 19.
Come sing with us!

Also the venue; we’ll be in Goodpasture Hall, so park in the Mayfair lot and come in the ramp. Scott Baker and Guy Griffith will facilitate discussions of the films.
